Genocide Victims Quilt Project

This project is used as a symbol of remembrance, healing, comfort and caring. We would like to dedicate memorial quilts to families and individuals murdered during the genocide as a sign that they will never be forgotten, whether they were survived by loved ones or not. We like to give the survivors of genocide the opportunity to dedicate a quilt in the loving memory of their loved ones who perished at the hands of the genocide perpetrators. This will help genocide survivors to move on with their healing process by giving them the chance to see the names and the pictures of their slain loved ones if possible, and allow themselves to express their legitimate feelings instead of being silent and suppressing them. We want to encourage all the genocide survivors to participate in the quilt project.

We are available anytime you want to contact us by phone, email or regular mail, or just by completing the volunteer's registration form. We will be happy to send back as soon as possible, clear guidelines regarding the registration process. Our main goal with the Genocide Victims Quilt project is to raise public awareness about the Rwandan genocide that was ignored by the whole world when it was happening. We want to create a memorial exhibition program, we will use as an educational tool in schools, and in other group settings. We like to give the opportunity to students and other groups of people willing to know more about the genocide and wondering what they could do to participate in preventing future genocides, anywhere else in the world. This will be one of the best ways to provide support to the genocide survivors. Volunteers willing to participate in this project have plenty of opportunities to use their talents and their time to impact lives of orphans and widows, in a very meaningful ways. We thank all the volunteers and all the genocide survivors working to make this project what it is designed to be.
